Plan a simple Photo Shoot

Most of the photos I shoot are taken with very simple photographic tools and mostly with non profesional people. If you carefully look at the photos, you can probably tell what the light source is from the shadows that fall on the model and roughly understand what really went into making that specific production. While anyone can take a photo using the same tools, it, does not necessarily mean that you will end up with the same image.

While I’m fighting the flu and drinking hot lemon juice with honey… I let you with some old Pics…

Idea or a concept

Ok, if you are creative and there are many ideas that ravage through your head. Normally I write them down (I know that today its easier “Pin” with Pinterest your inspiration). But nevertheless, what harm can it to write some of your thoughts down, even if you never look back at it again. I would advice you to keep a little black book of ideas. (ok fanboys of field notes or moleskin… not a word) Carry it around, and as inspiration chirps, keep recording your ideas down. Leave some space between each entry so that you can come back and add more notes to it. Sketch, draw, underline, dream about it. Burn with the idea of making it happen. Push yourself and keep reminding yourself that you can do it no matter how hard it may look.

  1. planning is an important part of the process and jotting down ideas for inspiration is a good point!!

    • Thanks Alexa :D the last photos were achieved with the Multi- exposure Mode that mimics the multiple exposure effects with the Canon 5D Mark III similar to film only that you keep the Raw intact. There are a number of digital cameras that can do this: Canon 1D X, Canon 6D, most Nikon DSLRs… I think the… Fujifilm X Pro1, Fujifilm X100S and some more like the Olympus… I think… It´s quite fun.

Basically there are two Raws shot in camera that are fused together resulting in a Multi- exposure Raw ;D of course in the digital age you can easily achieve this effect with most editing software there are even apps… you have downloaded the nik collection right? there is somewhere a double exposure effect if I remember correctly :D

  2. oh, wow, I should check the camera then if it has this mode… looks awesome… :) I really though you were applying again one of them special effects that are your trademark – shooting through crystals or glass of champaign :)

yep, I downloaded the Nik, but so far I’m loving only the Silver Efex part for bw conversion… the color options I don’t like so much… will see what it offers for multiple-exposure….

I’ve always loved multiple-exposure images, but have never given them a try… you should post more of these for inspiration :)

    • No this time it was the multiple exposure feature in camera I needed to keep the base Raw without this effects just in case ;D I like the multiple exposure in camera for its immediacy and the fewer time I spent in front of the screen the more I can shoot XD

Und Planung ist alles…denn wenn du die Kamera in die Hand nimmst ist es zu spät sich noch Gedanken über Ausstattung oder Idee zu machen !
